I remember my day telling my
    brother-in-law and I to  carry 60
sheets of panelling and 60 sheets
of drywall into the basement we
were building, from where it was
    delivered in the driveway, around
the house to a side door where we
had a straight shot and down into
the basement. 120 trips down and
120 up. This would have been a
chore but this was still at the time in
my life when my brother-in-law was
trying to kill me with work. So we did
the entire load in at a trot. He would
look at me and  say " Are you tired
Jr.? 'Cause if you're tired we can
slow down. " I, not about to let him
get my goat,  said " No, I'm fine but I
understand that all this is a lot for
an old man and if you want to stop
it's OK with me" Of course it went
on and on like this until shaking
and sweating we delivered the last
    sheet to the basement and
stumbled away to hidden corners to
    recover. Good Times! In those
days the drywall was just a backer
for the paneling that was the
standard finish for the stylish 70's
    basement. The basement today is
an extension of the upstairs and is
    finished to match. Full bathrooms
are common and have as nice a
finish schedule as the main floor
baths. Here are a few of my recent
basements. By the way, these days
I have a very good drywall crew that
handles all the up and down stuff. I
    am a much happier man!
